   Are vegans against breast feeding? Seriously? That’s insane.

   *Update* I was just reading this post again and suddenly saw it in a new light, as ‘dietary kookery’ could be taken as the high availability of garbage ‘nonfood’, that is, edibles completey devoid of nutrients, that modern America presents as much of it’s buffet.

   This seriously just occured to me for some reason, and I promise there isn’t some peta kid here in the room with me holding a gun to my head or anything. When I saw it, I was just sort of pulled in by some sensational ‘thing’ about the information and wanted to spout off.

   Relating to allycks comment, I’m unaware of the vegan concensus on breastfeeding (as if there were such a thing) and my impulse in posting this was more to say ‘hey look at these strange coincidences…something I never thought of before’ more than to demonize veganism. It’s not like I’m ‘Mr. Childcare’ either, but something about this information struck me in the gut…watching the kid emaciate day after day and never ‘having the lightbulb go off’ that there was something askew about the situation… (once again, shoe on other foot, exact same thing could be said about lil ‘waddling butterballs’)

   I am certainly no carnivorous apologist however, and further refer any theoretical vegan smirking at this moment to a certain choice song from Steve Albini’s Rapeman project…

   I guess it’s just a different spin on the usual story– any philosophy carried to an extreme, without any kind of moderating or balancing force, leads to insanity. I refer to my Philosophy 101 class, Plato chapter, and the ‘Should I eat the chocolate cake, or not?’ discussion which has haunted me for years.
